How do I know what size I will need?
Without knowing your site it is hard to estimate exactly what size you need. Just give us a call and talk through what you have with our helpful staff and they will assist estimate the appropriate bin.
How much warning do you need?
Usually we like at least a days notice however we can usually deliver today if you get in early enough to avoid disappointment. Book as early as possible for same day deliveries.
Where do you deliver to?
We deliver to most areas around Melbourne. Simply call us for the rates.
How do I pay?
We accept Visa, Master Card, Cash, Cheque, Direct debit or EFT Transfer.
Are there extra charges?
There can be for things like tyres and mattresses, but mostly you get a fixed price.

Can I specify a delivery or pick up time?
We generally try to meet your specified times however in busier periods we may be heavily booked so it pays to get in early to avoid disappointment.
Acceptable Waste
You can dispose of most general household, garden and builders rubbish in a Harpers Bin.
However there are some exclusions due to environmental laws, we are unable to accept any of the following types of waste: Asbestos (or cement sheet), any liquid, tyres, large tree stumps, car batteries, paint containers, gas bottles, oils, chemicals, mattresses, medical sharps or food waste.
How full can I fill the bin?
Bins loads must not be filled above the sides of the bin. OH&S and Vic Roads regulations prohibit us from transporting overloaded bins, not to mention the dangers for you, our drivers and the general motoring public so we are sure you can understand our concerns. Bins must be covered and tied down in a safe and secure manner.
How long can I hire the bin for?
Just discuss your requirements with our friendly staff and they will work out a period to suit you.

What happens to the material you collect in the bin?
Harpers Bin Hire is a wholly owned subsidiary of the National Recycling Group and as such utilizes the Recycling Plant facilities at Dynon Road where materials are sorted and captured for re-use. Some materials that are deemed non-recyclable will ultimately end up as landfill. NRG is committed to a sustainable future by constantly reviewing and implementing new practices and processes that result in reducing landfill and its environmental impact.
Do I need a permit?
If your bin is on your property, then generally you will not need a permit. However if your bin is on the nature strip, footpath or roadway then most councils will require a permit. Permit cost vary from council to council and can be organized buy our friendly staff.
Can you supply Recycling Certificates?
Yes we do via our Recycling Plant at Dynon Road. Your loads are monitored for weight and content and a certificate can be issued stating what you have brought in for recycling.
We can monitor specific materials if you put in dedicated bins at your site, say exclusively for dirt or wood etc.
Can I set up an account?
Yes we do offer accounts to customers. Just contact our staff and we will send you an account application.
Do you have waste management contracts?
Yes we provide contract waste removal on an ongoing basis for commercial organizations such as Factories, Warehouse, Offices, Sporting Clubs, Government Departments, Building Managers, Shops and Shopping Centers throughout Melbourne and the metropolitan regions.
